A blend of 96% Shiraz and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from the Kalimna Vineyard and other sites throughout the Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, Magill Estate in Adelaide, McLaren Vale and Coonawarra.

Quite powerful, developed aromas of raisin, undergrowth, leather, boot polish and a touch of formic acid.  The wine is powerful and compelling on the palate, showing good maturity and depth of flavour, with very savoury developed coffee, earth, leather and olive flavours.  Good freshness and vitality, although the fruit is fully-mature.  The wine is still holding on at its peak, and should remain so for another decade or more.  92 points, drink now to 2027.  (June 2017).
