From Chris Ringland’s Stone Chimney Creek Vineyard high in South Australia’s Barossa Ranges, the 2013 Single Barrel Shiraz is an exceptionally rare wine, with only 200 magnums produced.

The fruit comes from the vineyard’s extreme south-eastern corner, where shallow soils and naturally low yields produce remarkably concentrated fruit. Deeply expressive, it offers layers of blackberry, black plum and blueberry, with dark chocolate, liquorice, spice and savoury mineral notes. The palate is rich and immensely powerful, yet retains remarkable finesse and definition, with dense, polished tannins carrying the wine through an extraordinarily long finish.

The 2013 vintage was exceptional, and this unique barrel selection captures the sheer intensity of the Stone Chimney Creek site in its most concentrated form. Presented in magnum, it is a remarkable piece of Barossa fine-wine history and a Shiraz built for very long-term cellaring.
