From the Barossa Ranges of South Australia, Chris Ringland’s 2015 Dry Grown Shiraz is sourced from his extraordinary dry-grown vineyard of century-old vines, planted in 1910. Naturally low yields and thick-skinned fruit produce a wine of immense concentration, yet the 2015 has remarkable freshness beneath the richness.

Dark blackberry, blood plum and mulberry are layered with cracked pepper, tobacco leaf, clove, dark chocolate and savoury cured-meat notes. The palate is powerful and enveloping, with plush, densely concentrated fruit balanced by fine, seamless tannins and a persistent, lifted finish. Extended maturation in new French oak adds further depth and spice, while the ancient vines provide an unmistakable sense of depth and complexity.

A profound expression of Barossa Shiraz, combining extraordinary richness with savoury detail and the character that only comes from truly old, dry-grown vines. It's not an easy find either, with only 1550 bottles made this vintage.
