Benoit Chevallier's 'Aux Damodes' bears significant resemblance to his magnificent 'Aux Boudots', which is not surprising given this plot of vines also lies alongside the Vosne-Romanee border adjoining the magnificent 'Aux Malconsorts' premier cru, but simply further upslope, on a 35% degree incline. The wine comes from 0.28 hectares of vines averaging 50+ years of age, and is matured in 50% new oak barriques for 18 months. Very powerful, complex and layered, this will reward a further 10-30 years of cellaring.
