Notwithstanding the additions of holdings in the grands crus of Chambertin and Romanee St.-Vivant following the 2005 acquisition of the Charles Thomas estate, Dujac's flagship wine for most remains Clos de la Roche, coming from plots totalling just under two hectares and averaging around 40 years of age. Typically a more powerful, sturdy yet impeccably refined expression, this is an especially age-worthy red Burgundy that will amply reward many years of careful cellaring.
Other critics: 95 points, Neal Martin (Vinous); 93-95 points, William Kelley (Wine Advocate).
