The Burlotto 'Acclivi' is a selection of high quality grapes from the Monvigliero, Neirane, Rocche dell’Olmo and Boscatto vineyards scattered across Barolo. Celebrating the old-fashioned approach to the wine, with a long maceration and a length maturation in large format barrels the Acclivi is a powerhouse with big tannins that will need some help from your cellar to calm down.

The 2021 vintage was one for the ages, with snowfall providing beneficial water to the sandy slopes protecting the grapes from a dry growing season, producing healthy grapes with concentrated tannins and phenolic compounds. In short, that makes wines that are extremely long-lived.

The Cru Barolos (those from a specific Barolo sub-region) were not produced by Burlotto in the much warmer 2022 with all of the fruit being thrown into one single bottling, so this is the only one you will see for a while!
