Celebrating a quarter-century of winemaking in Gibbston, the 2022 Valli '25th Anniversary' Pinot Noir is a special commemorative cuvée that captures the character of this distinctive corner of Central Otago. The slightly warmer 2022 growing season allowed for excellent ripeness and concentration, while retaining the perfume, freshness and fine-boned structure that define Valli’s approach to Pinot Noir.

The nose is wonderfully expressive, with wild strawberry, black cherry and raspberry layered with rose petal, dried thyme, cedar and a subtle hint of liquorice. The palate is generous and deeply flavoured, with concentrated red fruit framed by fine, dusty tannins and bright, well-integrated acidity. Notes of baking spice, savoury earth and a delicate herbal edge add complexity, leading into a long, harmonious finish. There is real depth here, but the wine retains an impressive sense of finesse, with its fruit intensity balanced by savoury detail and refined structure. A fitting tribute to 25 vintages in Gibbston, showcasing the concentration, fragrance and earthy complexity that make this such a compelling expression of Central Otago Pinot Noir.
