Grape: Riesling

Every so often you come across a truly style-defining producer and for Germany's famed Mosel region, it is Joh. Jos. Prüm. Through trend after trend they have produced the same quality riesling from a handful of famed parcels. No changes on the label, no changes in the bottle.

Perhaps most famous of their holdings is the Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard ("The Sundial of Wehlen"). Such is the icon that an image of the sundial itself can be found on the label of all JJ Prüm wines.

So what's in the bottle?

The 2023 is loaded with hints of stone fruits, ripe apples and a beautiful minerality to balance out their signature perfectly balanced sweetness.

Kabinett rieslings are off-dry (a touch of residual sugar) and are a great addition to pork sausages, or if you're feeling like mixing cuisines across the world, the spicy and fragrant dishes of Vietnam and Thailand.
