Mount Mary has played a defining role in the Yarra Valley's modern winemaking history since the early 1970s. The 2023 Chardonnay offers aromas of white peach, nectarine and lemon zest, complemented by flint, toasted almond and a subtle dash of cedar. The palate is generous, concentrated and deliciously textured, with layers of ripe stone fruit, citrus and almond cream balanced by fresh acidity and a fine mineral edge. Well-integrated oak (including the use of 30% new barrels) adds depth and complexity, while a subtle saline edge brings freshness and precision. The finish is divinely long and persistent, with lingering citrus and savoury notes.
