2024 Dexter Chardonnay
Tod and Debbie Dexter first planted their Tuerong vineyard in 1987, but it wasn't until the mid-2000s that they established the Dexter label following Tod's 10-year stint as chief winemaker at Stonier.
After a couple of decades of growing some exceptional fruit for other producers, it only made sense for the winemaking family to put their own label on it and make wine the way they had always dreamed.
The 2024 Chardonnay is packed with white peach, nectarine and honey cake with hints of cashew, nougat and warm baking spices.
For those after tech-specs, it was fermented and matured in 500 litre French oak, with 20% new oak included. Half of the blend undergoes malo which gives the wine a rich, rounded texture with deep, elegant complexity.
