Originally founded in 1923 by 24 local grape growers, Cantina Girlan has grown into a cooperative of around 200 wine grape growing families, all eager to showcase what their particular parcel has to offer. As such, the winery has access to a diverse range of vineyard sites, allowing the winemakers to select the best wines for their desired style of wine.

Pinot Bianco is a classic variety of Alto Adige, where the cooler Alpine climate and relatively high altitude help to retain the grapes natural freshness and acidity. Platt & Riegl comes from hillside vineyards between  450 and 550 metres in elevation, with limestone-rich clay and volcanic porphyry soils offering complexity and mineral edge to the wine.The fruit is hand harvested and fermented in a combination of large oak casks and stainless steel vats. The Wine is aged on fine lees for several months prior to bottling. 

Chalky white stone fruit, citrus and white flowers lead the way, with hints of grapefruit and a subtle saline edge. Lees ageing brings texture, while bright acidity maintains freshness through a long, fragrant finish.
