J.J. Prüm are consistently producing stunning wines year after year from their well-established vineyards in the Mosel, even in cool vintages like 2024.
The iconic producer's Kabinett's are worthy of praise this year, with the off-dry styles from both the Graacher Himmelreich and Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyards showing a vibrancy and freshness not always seen.
The Graacher Himmelreich Kabinett specifically is darker and denser with spices shining through, while retaining a lively acidity to cut through the small dose of residual sugar characteristic of the style.
In general Kabinett is not a style of wine I would age for a long time, but the Prüms are notoriously good at bucking this trend. You can bet I'll have a bottle or two in my personal cellar for a while.
