The Bannockburn sub-region of Central Otago has a microclimate heavily influenced by Mount Difficulty (the mountain, not the winery), which creates a rain shadow and protects the vines from humidity. This gives a warm growing season peppered with cool nights, which in turn translates to ripe fruit flavours with plenty of acid to give it a lively kick.
The Mt. Difficulty Bannockburn Pinot is packed with bramble, cherries and raspberries, with a characteristic red flower aroma and in classic Central Otago style it packs a punch with a hefty 14% alcohol.
