The centuries-old estate of San Giusto a Rentennano produces some of the most sought-after Chianti in tiny quantities.

In the bottle you can expect the pinnacle of high quality Chianti, with vibrant acidity and ripe cherry characters. Soft tannins and a hint of spice make this incredibly elegant. This is a drink now wine, but a short aging period of a year or two should see some wonderful structural integration.

The San Giusto a Rentennano benchmark wine is their Chianti Classico - a tranditional Chianti blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Canaiolo grapes picked at optimal ripeness. The Canaiolo gives the blend body and the Sangiovese gives it pep.

The wine is fermented in glazed concrete and stainless steel vats for about two weeks then gently pressed into massive 3,000 and 10,000 casks and smaller 500 litre tonneaux where it remained for 11 months.
