A distinctly German take on Pinot Noir, combining the finesse of Burgundy with a cooler, more savoury edge that gives it its own distinct character. Bright cherry and wild raspberry are lifted by notes of juniper, bay leaf, violet and earthy spice, with a subtle mineral character running underneath. The palate is light on its feet but far from lightweight, driven by brisk acidity, fine tannins and a wonderfully saline finish. There is a wildness to the wine that gives it plenty of personality, making it less about plush fruit and oak and more about freshness, detail and pure drinkability.
