Les Malgagnes is Yannick Amirault's original parcel, located in the Bourgueil sub-region of Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil.
This wine is taken from two hectares of vines with an average age of 50 years grown on the limestone slopes of the region. It undergoes a four week maceration (time on skins) and then 12ish months in barrels.
The end result is an intensely concentrated wine with refined tannins, plenty of acid and an intense bouquet of dark fruits - think black cherries and blackcurrants - and a razor sharp, crystal clear palate reserved for some exceptionally fine wines.
